BIOGRAPHY

Przemysław Prucnal was born on July 1st 2002 in Cracow, Poland. At the age of seven he began his violin studies under Irena Wojtowicz at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Primary Music School in Cracow.
In 2015 he continued his violin studies at the Fryderyk Chopin Secondary Music School in Cracow, under Małgorzata Szuba-Kmiecik, during which since 2019 he also started regularly working on his violin skills with the violin virtuoso Mariusz Patyra.

Since October 2021 Prucnal is pursuing his bachelor’s degree music studies at Nowowiejski Music Academy in Bydgoszcz under the tutelage of professor Mariusz Patyra.

 

Przemek participated in many artistic projects and initiatives such as the cycle of concerts „Young in the City”, the periodic concerts taking place at the residence of „Zawsze Warto” Fundation. Prucnal also played concerts incl. recitals in Dołega Mansion as a part of

„The Concerts at the Royal Mansion”, Białopradnicki Mansion as a part of the cycle „The Stage for the Young”, in Kepinscy Mansion, „Musica Intra” solo recitals in Redemptor Hominis Church in Cracow, or at the Polish television – „TVP”.

He has performed as a soloist with the Zabrze Philharmonic Orchestra led by Sławomir Chrzanowski, in the Pomeranian Philharmonic with Bydgoszcz Music Academy Orchestra conducted by Michał Dworzyński and also with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and conductor Tianyi Lu in the Sydney Opera House.

 

Przemek has actively participated as a student and a performer in many music workshops and courses, incl. „XVII Century Chamber Music Workshop” led by Jean-Pierre Menuge, „XXIII International Music Interptetation Course” and „XXIV International Music Interptetation Course” in Nowy Sacz, „VII International Tadeusz Wronski Master Course” in Puławy, NFM Masterclass or “Piła Festival & Academy”.

He has worked on his skills during the masterclasses with such violinists as: Alexander Sitkovetsky, Noah Bendix-Balgley, Jakub Jakowicz, Joel Link, Vadim Brodski, Paweł Zalejski, Bartosz Bryła, Daniel Stabrawa, Bartłomiej Nizioł and Ray Chen.

 

Prucnal is currently playing on the copy of Guarneri del Gesù „Ole Bull” violin, made in 2021 by the artist luthier Wojciech Topa.

Przemek has repeatedly been successful and awarded prizes at violin competitions including:

  • Vivaldi 333, 335 i 337 competitions in Wieliczka
  • Polish Nationwide h Nationwide Music Schools Students’ Auditions CEA in Warsaw
  • V International Young Violinists’ Competition „I will be a Virtuoso” in Cracow
  • IV Polish Nationwide Violin Competition – „Jak Wieniawski” in Lublin
  • “Play with Ray – Sydney Symphony Orchestra” competition

 

Among his most notable achievements are:

  • 1st prize at the Polish Nationwide Violin Competition CEA in Kielce
  • Grand Prix, 1st prize and Special prize at XV Polish Nationwide Forum of Young Instrumentalists in Rybnik
  • 1st prize at IV Polish Nationwide Violin Talents Competition in Poznań

 

Prucnal is a scholarship recipient of Minister’s of Culture and National Heritage scholarship for the art school students,

„Tonic Music App” scholarship involving masterclasses with renowned violinists, scholarship for the best students at the Bydgoszcz Music Academy (twice, in 2022 and 2023), as well as the „Young Poland” scholarship holder, from Polish National Center of Culture.
